Sussex Appeal for 2017 |
|
|
|
The Provincial Grand Master recently announced that the Province of Sussex will be holding an Appeal, culminating in 2017, in support of the Freemasons' Grand Charity.
The Appeal will commence on Saturday 4th September 2010 with several launch events to be held throughout the Province on this day, in addition to the 'Fontwell Family Day' to be held on Sunday 5th September.
The Freemasons' Grand Charity regularly supports national charities that are not connected with Freemasonry. In total, over £30 million has been donated to non-Masonic charities of all sizes. This includes over £8 million for hospice services as part of a special programme of support that began in 1984, and over £1.8 million for emergency relief work worldwide.
In addition, every year The Freemasons' Grand Charity awards grants to thousands of applicants. Support for Freemasons and their dependents is one of the primary activities of the Charity and no case of genuine need is ever rejected. |

United Grand Lodge of England Announce New Website
The new UGLE Website is in the process of going live. This well researched site is designed both as a public relations exercise and recruitment tool. Most importantly, it underpins the whole philosophy of open communications. Existing members, will find the new site fresh and informative. But, it is specifically designed for those who are thinking of joining and who have just joined. Interestingly, research shows that over ninety per cent of potential joiners looked for information on the UGLE website.
Importantly, it will help Masons when they talk to family, friends and acquaintances who are genuinely interested to hear what Freemasonry is all about. Equally, it will go a long way to dispel myths with our detractors. It’s a dynamic site and will be constantly evolving and being updated with the latest news. |
